Russia continues to strike Ukraine, while Poland has summoned the Russian ambassador. “Today the Polish foreign ministry summoned the Russian ambassador in connection with the missile that hit Polish territory yesterday,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on X. Yesterday Poland had already reported that Russia had violated Polish airspace.

Warsaw later said that what fell in eastern Poland during the night between Wednesday and Thursday was most likely a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile, and reported that a second Russian missile was considered a potential security risk for the country overnight.

Russian attacks in Ukraine

Russian strikes also caused, on Friday 31 July, at least nine deaths and 48 injuries across Ukraine in the past 24 hours. Search and rescue operations continued for a second day in the city of Lviv and in the village of Radushne (Dnipropetrovsk) following the large missile and drone attack carried out by Russia on the night of 30 July. In addition to the Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, strikes hit the Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions.

Last night, Russian forces used 255 Shahed attack drones, according to the air force. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 195 drones in the north, south and east of the country, while 22 drones struck targets in 14 locations.
