Ruto: Africa excluded from UN Security Council, needs reform

“The international security system is currently under significant strain. It is unacceptable that 54 African UN member states do not have permanent representation on the UN Security Council. This is not a concession but a necessity for the legitimacy and effectiveness of the international system. Decisions on peace and global security cannot be made without Africa’s contribution. We need a multilateral system capable of reflecting the realities of today’s world,” said William Samoei Ruto, President of Kenya, speaking at the event “Kenya: a great country looking to the future” at the Luiss Guido Carli Campus in Rome.
