“Charlie had made faith, freedom of speech and debate his defining traits. He was a committed Christian, a husband, a father, a young man who could speak to an entire generation without ever shirking debate, even with those who disagreed. He was murdered while exercising that freedom,” adds the prime minister.

“One year on,” she emphasizes, “the best way to remember him is not to let the hatred that tried to silence him prevail. We must continue to believe that ideas are met with other ideas, that dissent is not an enemy to be eliminated, and that faith can be lived without fear or shame.” “Charlie Kirk is no longer with us. But what he lived for continues to speak. And it deserves to be remembered,” Meloni concludes.
