A young man left school and became an entrepreneur who now earns about €890,000 a year. The story comes from England, where a 16-year-old named Harrison Nott founded “CoolTowel” in 2023 — a startup that has grown into a company producing towels. The young founder specifically wanted to create towels that provided immediate relief from heat.
His towels are made from a three-layer polyester fabric that relies on evaporative cooling. The user simply needs to wet the towel, wring it out, and snap it through the air before placing it on the skin. In a short time, Nott’s idea turned into a major success. According to the Daily Mail, last year Harrison won the Alibaba CoCreate Pitch Event, an international competition for startups, taking home a prize of £150,000 after beating 15,000 competitors from around the world.
Among the judges was Rio Ferdinand, the former Manchester United and England defender, who was so impressed by the idea that he chose to invest in CoolTowel. Three years later, Nott reports a turnover of £750,000. Harrison therefore decided to dedicate himself fully to the business, giving up his plans to attend university or college as he had originally intended: “I really value school, but my parents and I decided it would be better for me not to go to university,” he told the British media.
Despite rapid success, the young entrepreneur also faces significant costs, including advertising campaigns and fees, and is gradually increasing his profits: “It’s no longer just a business I run from my bedroom, but a brand that genuinely helps people. The future looks bright.”
