Passengers witness Artemis II launch while airborne

The Artemis II mission has launched toward the Moon, drawing curiosity and excitement. NASA’s Space Launch System lifted Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen into the sky aboard the Orion capsule. Artemis II will last ten days and will circle the Moon, carrying the crew to more than 252,000 miles from Earth – farther than any humans have traveled before and surpassing the distance reached by Apollo 13 in 1970, which returned early.
