Current outlook of the home appliance industry

The electronics and appliance industry has seen significant growth in the smart technology sectors, said global leading analysts GfK at Canton Fair’s China Home Appliances and Electronics Summit.

According to Peter Goldman, vice president of Global Key Accounts, Home Appliance, GfK, the market for smart appliances has more than doubled in the last 12 months.

“Approximately 30 percent growth of the global SDA (small domestic appliance) market is driven by innovation and smart appliances,” said Goldman.

Integrated smart home appliances enable a household “ecosystem”

At the fair, home appliance giants demonstrated their latest smart technology products to offer customers a more convenient lifestyle.

Versatility leads to product differentiation

Galanz, an electronic home appliance manufacturer, brought several upgraded microwaves that combine steaming and baking functions to the Canton Fair.

“The Canton Fair gathers buyers from around the world, we not only see that European and American markets are emphasizing more on innovative design and convenience optimizations, but the trend is also growing in Asian and African markets,” said Bruce Chang, CIS & Northeast Europe Branch Director, GALANZ Microwave Electrical Appliances Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

Maggie Pu, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Canton Fair, commented that product differentiation and the application of innovative technologies have become the defining competitive competency in today’s markets.
